Position Responsibilities

To date we’ve focused on scaling our DTC and Amazon business with direct customer acquisition but haven’t leaned into the power of partnerships and working with like-minded companies to further accelerate our growth. To jump start this effort, we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to expand our market position by identifying, developing, and closing key business relationships relevant to our mission and goals.

This position will manage the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive revenue, expand markets & distribution, and accomplish financial objectives. This individual will partner closely with the Executive team including the CEO on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be curious, entrepreneurial and ready to hustle.

Areas of focus for the role:

  • Identify companies that would be prime partners for cross-promotional advertisement
  • Identify opportunities to work with other like-minded businesses via more in depth/creative advertising partnerships
  • Sell Because media space to other companies
  • Create “sweepstakes” or other bundled raffles and partner with other companies to promote these events
  • Create a “rewards” program for Because members in partnership with other relevant companies -- i.e. offers exclusive to Because customers (magazine subscriptions, discounts)
  • Build relationships and establish partnerships with nursing homes, senior care facilities, and retirement communities
  • Be the master of our target customer group by researching the industry as a whole and related events, publications, and announcements

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience in BD/Partnerships, ideally with some consumer startup experience
  • Analytically-minded and comfortable with large datasets and analysis
  • Passion for deeply understanding the customer journey and furthering the mission of Because
  • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA preferred, or 2+ years at a top-tier consulting firm

For this position, the reasonably expected pay is $120,000 - $150,000 for the level scoped. This position is also eligible for stock options and a competitive benefits package. Your pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range may apply.
